The Sakyan, son of Devadaha, and father of Mahāmāyā and Mahāpajāpatī, wives of Suddhodana.
His wife was Sulakkhaṇā (Ap.ii.538, v.115; see also ThagA.152).
According to the Mahāvaṃsa (ii.17 ff), he was the son of Devadahasakka and had a sister Kaccānā; his queen was Yasodharā.
In addition to the daughters mentioned above he had two sons, Daṇḍapāṇi and the Sakyan Suppabuddha.
