Āsava Sutta

1. Āsava Sutta.– There are these three corruptions: sensuality (kāmāsava), desire for existence (bhāvāsava), and ignorance (avijjāsava). For the full understanding and abandoning of these the Noble Eightfold Path should be developed. S.v.56.

2. Āsava Sutta.– There are these three corruptions: sensuality, desire for existence, and ignorance. For the abandoning of these the Four Foundations of Mindfulness should be developed. S.v.189.

3. Āsava Sutta.– On the six qualities that make a monk worthy of honour and offerings, due to destruction of the corruptions (āsava), and also on the methods which lead to such destruction. A.iii.387‑94.

4. Āsava Sutta.– Ten things that conduce to the destruction of the corruptions: the eight factors of the Noble Eightfold Path, in addition to right knowledge (sammā-ñāṇa) and right liberation (sammā-vimutti). A.v.237.
