Such an almsman can truly be called a recluse (samaṇa), a brahmin (brāhmaṇa), one who is cleansed (nhātaka), a sage (vedagū), a scholar (sottiya), a Noble One (ariya), and a worthy saint (arahaṃ). He is an ideal recluse. M.i.271‑80.
