Sudatta Sutta
1. Sudatta Sutta.– At one time the Blessed One was dwelling in the cool grove (Sītavana) at Rājagaha. Then Anāthapiṇḍika, having come to Rājagaha on some business, and heard, “A Buddha has arisen in the world.” However, since it was late, it occurred to him that it was too late, so he decided to visit the Buddha in the morning.

When he reached the cool grove, the Blessed One was pacing up and down. Seeing him coming from a distance, the Blessed One sat down on a seat made ready, and invited Anāthapiṇḍika to approach, saying, “Come, Sudatta.”
Elated that the Blessed One addressed him by his personal name, he prostrated himself at his feet, saying, “Venerable sir, have you slept well?”
The Buddha replied that the brahmin who is fully quenched, who has cut off all attachments, always sleeps well. S.i.211.
2. Sudatta Sutta.– Anāthapiṇḍika approached the Blessed One, paid homage to him, and sat at once side.
The Blessed One addressed him, saying, “A householder who offers food give four things. What four? Long life, beauty, happiness, and strength. A.ii.63.
