Sumanadeva
1. Sumanadeva.– A tree deity whose daughter, Kālī, was married to Dīghataphala. Because Kāḷavilaṅgika’s (s.v. Mahā-Kassapa, n31)wife, disguised as a man, brought him the news of the birth of a son to Kālī, he gave her the treasures that lay buried within range of the shadow of his tree. MA.ii.813.
2. Sumanadeva.– An elder of Sri Lanka, teacher at the Lohapāsāda. He was an eminent expert of the Abhidhamma. DhSA.31.
