Ārakkhadāyaka Thera

1. Ārakkhadāyaka Thera.– An Arahant. In a previous birth he built a railing (vedi) round the thūpa of Siddhattha Buddha and made provision for its protection. Six world-cycles ago he was a king named Apassena. Ap.i.214‑15.

2. Ārakkhadāyaka Thera.– An Arahant. He put a fence around the thūpa of the Dhammadinna Buddha and arranged for its protection. This act resulted in his becoming an Arahant in the present age. Ap.i.253.
