Sutta Piṭaka

One of the three divisions of the Tipiṭaka. It consists of five collections (nikāya):

1. Dīghanikāya,
2. Majjhimanikāya,
3. Saṃyuttanikāya,
4. Aṅguttaranikāya
5. Khuddakanikāya.

The first four are homogeneous and cognate in character. A number of suttas appear in two or more of them.
